Ready for more pumpkin spice fun?!
I will admit, only to you dear friends, that I can sometimes jump a little too high in my quest to get on to the bandwagon that is Pumpkin Spice…
and it usually ends with me falling on my face in regret. For example…
Blue Moon’s Pumpkin Ale. As I went with my boyfriend last week to pick up a bottle of wine for his parents, I noticed an entire case full of only pumpkin and/or Oktoberfest beers. It was like Christmas had come early, or so I thought.
I went with the brand I knew and loved, and rushed home with it to dig in.
Friends, I know you don’t hear me say this often, so listen carefully:
it was too sweet.
Seriously: sort of like drinking beer that’s been drowned in pumpkin syrup. Oh man did I regret that purchase until I realized…
I COULD MAKE PUMPKIN SPICE BEER BREAD!
I had so much fun whipping up those Cheddar Bacon Beer Bread Muffins earlier this year that I knew I could transform this overly-sweet pumpkin ale into a perfect Pumpkin Bread.
So we have lots and lots of pumpkin-love going into this bread: pumpkin beer, pumpkin pie spice, and of course, pumpkin puree. The puree actually takes the place of the fat in the recipe, so I can even tell you that this is a low-fat yet incredibly moist and flavorful pumpkin bread!
ALL HAIL THE PUMPKIN LORD! I AM THE QUEEN OF LOW FAT PUMPKIN TREATS!
Well, really anyone can be the queen of that since pumpkin has very little fat. But I would make a very good queen; free pumpkin spice lattes for all!
So did I just make October more exciting for you?
Thought so. 😉
The pumpkin beer takes this bread to a whole new level. Whereas it is incredibly too sweet on its own to enjoy as a beverage, it melds perfectly with all the other flavors to bring you a rich, authentic, pumpkin experience.
If I have one goal this Autumn, it’s to make each and every one of you lovely, amazing, superb readers of mine into pumpkin fanatics.
I already brought my boyfriend to the pumpkin side; YOU ARE NEXT!
Oh and there are cinnamon chips all up in this bread too. Since, you know, everything is better with cinnamon chips. If you don’t like them/can’t find them, feel free to throw in regular chocolate chips or even white chocolate chips.
