My oh my how this week has flown. Before we know it Halloween will be here, followed by Thanksgiving…and Christmas…
I really do my best to
think about every holiday at all times not to jump ahead to the next holiday season, so today I thought I’d share with you a recipe that is great for this season AND next!
Cinnamon Pumpkin Whoopie Pies – the perfect seasonal dessert to enjoy all Autumn long!
As much as I may attempt to not bombard you with holiday recipes ahead of their appropriate time, Thanksgiving is only five weeks away, which is pretty much, you know, tomorrow in “Food Blogger Time”.
FIVE WEEKS IS NOT ENOUGH TIME!
How can I not jump right into Thanksgiving when it’s less than a month away and I want to talk to you about stuffing and mashed potatoes and turkeys and appetizers and desserts like these Pumpkin Whoopie Pies?
Moist, soft, and chewy cinnamon pumpkin whoopie pies are the perfect accompaniment to your Halloween festivities or a Thanksgiving dessert table. You could tint them orange with a black buttercream for a spookier effect, or stick with some classic autumn sprinkles like I did.
I had plans to cut out Jack O Lantern faces in these whoopie pies, and fill them with a yellow buttercream, but then they turned out far tinier than I imagined they would. Adorable, but far too tiny to try and cut Jack O Lantern faces.
Then I figured I’d pipe Jack O Lantern faces on them, until I remembered that my hands are incapable of saying still and drawing straight lines, much less piping them.
So when in doubt, decorate with sprinkles! Sprinkles make everything better.
No matter what.
I’ll be back on Monday with an awesome appetizer recipe featuring roasted vegetables, so enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you then!
