HELLO MY LOVELY FRIENDS!
I am so excited because I found you all! Just as I thought I would never retrieve all of my subscribers or stats, just as I was about to plunge into a jar of Nutella bought specifically for wallowing in sadness…
lovely Tech Support got back to me and all is well On Sugar Mountain.
My apologies to anyone for any missed posts and I thank you for your patience during what was quite possibly the most stressful weekend of my life. So, just to catch anyone up, I shared this Sensationally Sweet Spring Recipe Roundup on Friday; and on Monday I shared rich, chocolatey S’mores Stuffed Muffins.
By the way, those S’mores Muffins? Yeah. You’re going to want to make those. Repeatedly.
Just eat all the muffins.
However, if by some chance you are not craving s’mores muffins, perhaps I can interest you in some No Bake Peep S’mores Treats?!
I can? BRILLIANT!
Today I’ve made some simply sweet no-bake s’mores that are the perfect treat to make for Easter. Have a few little sous chefs who want to get involved? These Peep treats come together with just the use of the microwave, a spatula, and plenty of sprinkles.
Who could say no to sprinkles? Or those adorable little Peep faces?
Well, obviously, I can’t. This is the second s’mores-related post of the week, and I just know there are more on the way. Spring means summer is one the way (in NJ it means summer is going to just show up without any warning or welcome) and summer means s’mores.
You may think I’m jumping the gun about summer, but I live in New Jersey, and after the multiple polar vortices, I’m pretty much ready for sunshine and stable warm weather. If anyone even jokingly mentions the word “snow” to me, I may explode into a million peeps.
I’ve eaten a great deal of peeps since they hit the shelves. Consider it recipe research and development.
So, back to the Peep Treats. Fun to say, fun to make, fun to eat, these Peep S’mores Treats are everything you always wished dyeing Easter eggs would be.
Don’t even try to defend dipping Easter eggs. That is a hot mess waiting to happen that starts out all fun and lovely and ends with a bunch of cracked eggs and crushed dreams. With Peeps and s’mores, even if they end up messy, you can just top ’em with a bunch of sprinkles
or shove them directly into your mouth before anyone sees them. I prefer hot messes that I can actually eat, thank you very much.
So I hope these adorable little treats show up on your Easter table (or just in your kitchen!) in a few weeks. I’ll be back on Friday with a savory, cheesy, dish that could easily be your new favorite way to enjoy pie crust.
No Bake Peep S’mores Easter Treats
- 9 whole graham crackers, broken in half (18 squares total)
- 18 marshmallow peeps
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chunks/chips
- assorted sprinkles
- Add chocolate to a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave at 25 second intervals, stirring between each, until chocolate is melted and smooth.
- Using a spatula (or a blunt knife) smear chocolate across one side of the graham cracker, and cover in sprinkles. Place on a cookie sheet, chocolate side facing up, and repeat with the remaining graham cracker squares. Let dry.
- Flip graham crackers over and spread melted chocolate over the other side, then place one Peep firmly in the center. Top with more sprinkles and set to dry. Repeat with remaining graham cracker squares.
Yields 18 peep treats
